For an additional small fee, healthy and organic (when possible) breakfast, lunch, and snack are included in the cost of tuition. Monthly menus are provided at the beginning of each month. Here is a link to a printable copy of our monthly menu. Please note that I am very flexible and can accommodate your child’s special diet needs. For example, I can provide vegetarian or gluten-free meals if needed. I also know that children can be picky eaters, so I am always open to suggestions on meals to add to the regular menu!
Example of a daily menu:
organic homemade oatmeal with organic milk & berries
hormone-free chicken stir fry and rice with organic broccoli & sweet peppers
organic apples & bananas
whole grain crackers
All Nest food is local, organic, grass-fed, hormone-free and free-range whenever possible. All this translates to healthier meals for the kids. Also, because I understand that children can be picky eaters or require special diets, I’m happy to work with parents to provide particular foods.
Local and Organic Produce
We go to the farmer’s markets weekly, buying organic food from local farmers. In addition to being healthier, it’s also better for the planet, since very little fuel is used in the local transport.
Backyard Vegetable Garden
In addition, we are currently working on having a backyard vegetable garden, which will provide some food for snacks and meals. It also will provide fun and educational gardening activities for the children.
One great thing about fruits and vegetables is that they can be turned into compost. This compost produces dirt that can be used for future crops. This “circle of life” is a great teaching tool for the children, as they can see nature in action!
